چکیده
Abstract Darcy’s law for porous media transport is given a new local thermodynamic basis in terms of the grand potential confined fluids. The effective pressure gradient determined using non-equilibrium molecular dynamics, and hydraulic conductivity permeability are investigated. coefficients single-phase flow face-centered cubic lattices solid spheres. porosity changed from that closest packing spheres to near unity pure fluid, while fluid mass density varied dilute gas dense liquid. between $$5.7 \times {10^{-20}} \hbox {m}^2$$ 5.7×10-20m2 $$5.5 {10^{-17}} xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML">5.5×10-17m2 , showing porosity-dependent Klinkenberg effect. Both depended on average but different ways. These results set stage investigation coupled multi-phase fluids complex media.

A Model for Single-phase Flow in Layered Porous Media
Homogenization techniques are used to derive a double porosity model for single phase flow in a reservoir with a preferred direction of fracture. The equations in the microscopic model are the usual ones derived from Darcy’s law in the fractures and matrix (rock). The permeability coefficients over the matrix domain are scaled, using a parameter ε, based on the fracture direction in the reservo...
متن کاملBenchmarks for single-phase flow in fractured porous media
This paper presents several test cases intended to be benchmarks for numerical schemes for single-phase fluid flow in fractured porous media. A number of solution strategies are compared, including a vertex and a cell-centered finite volume method, a non-conforming embedded discrete fracture model, a primal and a dual extended finite element formulation, and a mortar discrete fracture model. Th...
متن کاملControllability, observability and identifiability in single-phase porous media flow
Over the past few years, more and more systems and control concepts have been applied in reservoir engineering, such as optimal control, Kalman filtering, and model reduction. The success of these applications is determined by the controllability, observability, and identifiability properties of the reservoir at hand. The first contribution of this paper is to analyze and interpret the controll...
